Psalm 1, 128, Lamentations 3, Ecc. 2

Today we look at the obstacle of happiness, where our culture celebrates the narrative of doing what you want that makes you feel happy. In the endless pursuit of fun experiences, we rush around seeking an end goal that will never be satisfied. We instead need to rest in the satisfaction of the Lord's salvation. 

1 Cor. 6:12-20, 1 Cor. 10:23-24, John 8:32-33, Gal. 5:1

Today we discuss the obstacle that freedom plays to our faith. Our understanding is tainted by the worldview that expresses the belief that we are free to do what we want as long as it is not hurting someone else. The biblical understanding of freedom from oppression gets lost in the noise of the culture around us. 

1 Pet. 1:3-9

One Resurrection Sunday, we look to the hope that we have in our Risen Lord and Savior. We look at the wonderful mercy of God to fulfill the plan of redemption, and the joy that we have in Christ! He is Risen!

John 12:12-18

Today we look at what Jesus brings as he enters into Jerusalem to a cheering crowd. He draws our attention to his purposes, gives us comprehension and understanding. And then he shows us how to be devoted to those purposes. 

1 Tim. 1:12-17; 2 Cor. 4:1-6; Rom. 1:16-2:11

Today we look at a more specific obstacle within our culture, identity. With a firm understanding of the gospel message in our own lives, we can stand firm in the truth of the word to battle the enemy who is blinding the unbelievers. In this downward spiraling of culture we cannot lose hope as we attempt to share the joy of the Lord. 

Isaiah 43, Acts 2 - Today we begin a look at our convictions. Knowing what we believe and why. Starting with the bad news and good news of the gospel message in order to firm up our foundation

1 Cor. 2:1-5; 1 Cor. 9:19-27

Today we look at how Paul demonstrates his faith in word and deed in order to win some for Christ. Are we able to be all things for all people with the convictions of sharing the gospel no matter the cost. 

Acts 17.

Today we look at how the attraction in culture is away from God, and how as believers our goal is an attraction to the gospel message.

Gen 18:22-19:22; Proverbs 1:20-32; James 2:1-7

Today we look at the obstacle of attention and how relevance matters in culture compared to our walk with God. Do we have the conviction of urgency to share the gospel message with those who find so much in the church or about God irrelevant?

Judges 2:11-15 Today we begin to look at some of the obstacle facing the American church. We need to face these issues head on in order to effectively equip the next generation and reach the lost in our communities. We need to throw off our selfish pride in order to treat culture and society in a healthy and balanced way.
