#134 The Resurrection

Luke's account of the resurrection shows how the disciples scarcely believed at first. How they did not treat his teachings with expectancy. We need to be on guard from falling into the same patterns in our own life. 

#133 Crucifixion and Death

Today we look at the people that Jesus is able to minister to, even as he is being crucified. His death is such a significant event for believers. Praise God for his atoning sacrifice.

#132 Mocked with a Speedy Trial

There are many unfair moments in life. Jesus went through various trials and was found to be innocent, yet the mob pushed for him to be crucified. Seeing how Jesus stood firmly on the truth of God while going through this gives courage. He did not waver as he used discernment in front of the various peoples as he understood God's will. This gives us direction. 

#131 Council Communication

As he disciples of the early church would have councils and debates on topics and then report it to the church. This week we have a discussion around General Council and what will be happening in the coming years in terms of the discussions in the denomination. We also look at some of the vision surrounding Missions and the importance of advancing the gospel message.

#130 In the Garden Part 2

After the time of prayer we see the betrayal and arrest of Jesus. We see the denial by Peter and the Israelites as well. Betrayal is a stronghold that is difficult for many to overcome, but it is also something that we are all guilty of before a holy God.

#129 In The Garden Part 1

Today we look at the agony that Jesus faces while in the garden. He prays for God's will to be done and is strengthened by an angel as he wrestles through the agonizing event. He continues to be our model of what it means to align ourselves to the will of the Father. 

#128 Dinner Conversations

Still at the Passover Meal, Jesus and the disciples have some interesting conversations revolving around greatness, Satan wanting to sift them, and how harder times are coming, so the the disciples would need to be faithful to what God has called them to. 

#127 The New Covenant

Jesus institutes a New Covenant in order to deal with the greatest need that we have, redeeming us from our sin. We also look at our attitudes surrounding sin in order to test whether or not we are understanding the holiness of God. 

#126 Jesus Warns the People

As the people are marveling at the magnificence of the temple, Jesus warns them about how none of it would last. He warns them of the coming destruction and the future wars before his return. The disciples needed to understand that they were to persevere and recognize the impermanence of everything other than the word of God. 

#125 Trouble with the Scribes

After correcting the Sadducees, Jesus now turns to the Scribes who needed corrected in their doctrine and their behavior. Facing correction and criticism is hard to deal with for most people, but as Christian brothers and sisters we need to be able to speak the truth in love in order to draw each other closer to the Lord.
