#102 Repentance

Jesus addresses the arrogance of the Jewish crowds when it comes to divine retribution and teaches them a valuable lesson of all are sinners, in need of repentance. 

#101 True Peace

Jesus says in Luke 12 that he did not come to bring peace, so we look at what this phrase means in light of him being the Prince of Peace, and the one who wins peace for us with God. 

#100 The Heart of Our Life

Jesus addresses many pitfalls in people's lives in scripture. He gives them redirection and tells them to repent of their heart attitudes. In Luke 12, he discusses greed over material goods, and anxiety, worry and fear over the material goods as well. As Christians we need to listen to Jesus' commands to move away from these things. 

#99 Acknowledging Christ

The hypocrisy of the Pharisees is used as an object lesson for the disciples. They must not fear to acknowledge Christ before men, even when persecution and death come. As we face things that could be fearful in our own lives, we need to firmly stand for Christ. 

#98 Hypocrisy and Legalism

Jesus warns the Pharisees and the scribes about the wickedness and greed that is inside of them, giving them woes that are still relevant for us as we consider legalistic tendencies and the hypocrisies that can be present in our walks.

We are responsible to respond to the gospel message when it is presented. All through the Bible God has revealed himself with many signs and proclamations all leading to the person of Jesus. The people in Jesus' day responded with unbelief. How do we respond?

As people thought that Jesus was performing His acts of power through the power of Satan, he challenges them with their hypocrisy and unbelief. Jesus is united to the Father, and a house divided could not stand. They are called to recognize that the Kingdom of God was upon them and believe.

As we study the model of prayer that Jesus gives, we break down the elements to show how prayer is to be person, reverent, kingdom seeking, daily to give us understanding of forgiveness and deliverance. We are to pray with a persistence and expectancy.

Walking through Luke, we come to a person trying to justify themselves. As a connection we are at times are too smart for our own good and look for loopholes, trying to justify ourselves. But we need to understand the difference between the Law and Grace and and rest in what has been done for us, as we trust in the Word of God and obey his commands.
