Today we look at the context of the letter to the Corinthians as we begin to study the Spiritual gifts in Chapter 12.

Mercy is such a complicated term to understand. There are so many facets to the definition and synonyms. We are to be people of mercy, because mercy was given to us. And we are to give this mercy with cheerfulness. 

Today we break down the gift of leading and how it is to be done in the Lord. Comparing what we see in the Bible to what we experience in the world, it is easy to tell that we need a lot more godly leaders, and it starts at home. 

Contributing comes from a heart of humility that understands what we have been given from God in Christ. From that heart we contribute or give a share of what we have to build up the body and encourage one another as the Spirit has called us to give.  

Today we look at the importance of encouraging one another in Christ in order to build up the body. There are many opportunities each day to encourage someone else, are we doing so in vanity, or are we encouraging people unto Christ?

Today we look at the important gift of teaching, and the need to base it in the word. WE also look at the misleading and false nature of deconstruction within the church. He and he alone is our source for truth. 

Today we begin our walkthrough of the individual gifts and we start with Service in Romans 12. The question is similar throughout history, whom will you serve. After being all in for Jesus, we need to obey the promptings of the Spirit as he calls us to serve in a variety of ways.

As we begin to look at Rom. 12, we start with some general observations and context to help us better understand the Spiritual Gifts. We look at Paul's understanding of the Charismata and the analogy of the body to describe the church. And how in everything God is getting the glory.

Finishing up the office portion of Ephesians 4, we look at how important shepherds and teachers are to the church body. We study the debated issues within these terms and look at how scripture describes shepherds as the elders of the early churches.
